Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation that consists of using a 10 gauge scalpel to gently scrape off the top layer of dulling dead skin cells in order to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion. Although it sounds scary, it really isn’t. We are extremely experienced with this procedure at Facial Rejuvenation.

If you think you may have heard of dermaplaning before, you probably have.  It is a favorite in the entertainment industry. In addition to removing all the dead skin cells and facial hair, it leaves the skin’s surface very smooth. It also allows for greater penetration of skincare products and creates a flawless canvas for makeup to glide on smoothly.

When is Dermaplaning a Good Option?

Like all our procedures, we’ll only recommend dermaplaning if it is a good fit for you specifically.

  1. It is great for all skin types, except for those with cystic acne, raised skin tags or moles.
  2. It is also a good alternative if you are pregnant or nursing and want to exfoliate, but don’t want to risk a chemical peel for the possible contraindications.
  3. It is great if you have excess peach fuzz and want makeup to go on smoothly.
  4. It is also great if you get an excess of dirt and oil from your hair that causes clogged pores.
